The Drow War

The Drow War

The Saga of the Drow, Book One: The Gathering Storm is the first in a linked series of three 256-page books. Each one contains a single epic story broken into ten parts, thus making thirty discrete adventures in total, all tied in to one overarching saga.

The Saga of the Drow begins with a mysterious summoning to a stone circle in the north of the island of Chillhame, close to a fishing village that is about the most unremarkable place on earth. As the Players explore their surroundings and learn more about why they have been brought here, helping the local villagers and finding out about ancient legends, they are abruptly plunged into a burgeoning war. A long-exiled evil has been brooding beneath Chillhame and now its armies seek to march on the surface.

With little time to lose, the Players must bear the proof of the coming invasion to the villages of Chillhame, ultimately presenting themselves to the council of mighty Saragost, the walled seaport city. Even then, their work is not done, as they are sent to bring the alert to several settlements that have been mysteriously quiet of late…

The Tome of Drow Lore

The Tome of Drow Lore

That is where this book comes in.

The philosophy behind The Tome of Drow Lore is that the race of the drow is as complex and vibrant as any race on the surface of the world, and is dedicated to the drow, in all their varied, wicked splendour. In the millennia since the drow were forced underground in the Great Betrayal, and dispersed throughout the Underdeep in the Sundering, the intense pressures of life beneath the surface have caused them to change dramatically. For years, the drow have been thought of as a sophisticated and cruel race, governed by an even crueler spider-worshipping matriarchy with absolute power over every drow. The truth is not so simple, and arrogant adventurers who set out beneath the surface of the world, certain they know the full measure of the drow, will find themselves quite unpleasantly surprised.

Within The Tome of Drow Lore, Games Masters will find information on a variety of drow cultures, religions, societies, Houses and, yes, sub-races. In addition, there are new drow spells, feats, new twists on old skills and drow equipment, be it magical, alchemical or mundane.

The Dying of the Light

The Drow War Book Two: The Dying of the Light

A strange messenger arrives, bearing a missive for the Players from ‘a friend’. This urges them to head to the kingdom of Jehannum, the most strongly fortified country in all of eastern Ashfar. It seems bizarre that so militaristic and entrenched a nation could be at risk, but that is exactly what the letter says. Moreover, the letter refers to the Players as the Starborn, so the writer clearly knows more about them than most. The letter urges the Players to warn the ruling war barons of Crom Calamar of a coming onslaught from the Drow caverns beneath the city, and whether they succeed or fail, to meet a messenger at an inn in the city’s outskirts.

So begins The Dying Light, the second part of the Saga of the Drow trilogy. This 256-page hardback book takes the Players further along the road to the epic climax of the series. Packed with marvellous detail, expressive artwork and a great storyline, The Dying Light is a thrilling campaign for anybody who likes the drow.

The Darkest Hour

The Darkest Hour

Drow War III: The Darkest Hour is the final part of the Drow War campaign. This massive adventure is epic in both senses of the word familiar to d20 enthusiasts. It takes the action out into the manifold planes of existence, pitting the Player Characters against no less a threat than the extinction of all life and the final triumph of darkness – stakes far beyond anything faced before. The adventuring takes place on a cosmic scale, with allies and adversaries to match.

The Player Characters move beyond the standard 20 levels of regular d20 and enter the realms of the epic rules. They will come into possession of astounding new magical items, learn feats and spells that outshine the heroes of legend and face down foes that cause entire civilisations to tremble.

Only one thing is certain. Whichever path the future takes, whichever side is victorious; this is the last battle of the Drow Wars.
